Catching Up with the New England Revolution’s 2016 Season Roster

2016 marks the twenty-first season for the New England Revolution and we’re well into the summer season.

Catch up with this year’s squad roster and learn about the top stars of Boston’s premier professional soccer team.

The Ultimate Underdogs

The New England Revolution is the first professional soccer team to represent the Greater Boston Area in Major League Soccer.

The Revs are relatively new to Boston’s already saturated sports ecosystem. They are surrounded by some of the most successful major league sports teams in the U.S.

Gaining new support is hard, but not impossible. Last year the Revs’ saw a record-breaking 42,947 people packing the seats of their home, Gillette Stadium, for their regular-season home finale.

The team’s number of supporters are growing more each year, but it’s not enough. The Revolution will need to make an incredible feat to make soccer really have a big impact on the landscape.

The Road to the MLS Cup Playoffs 2016

Revolution supporters have been clamoring for their heroes to finally take home the coveted MLS Cup Trophy for years now. They’ve already competed in five MLS Cup Finals since 2002.

Amidst growing support from fans across America, can this be the year the New England Revolution give their supporters the gift they’ve long been waiting for?

We’ll find out this December. In the mean time, we can look for clues in the squad’s current roster.
